With the help of all of you, Larry came out on top in the election with 71% of the votes. Thanks for all your help with signs, parades and word of mouth to friends, neighbors and family. We now look forward to the election in November.  We need to gather up the signs for use in October/November.  If you have Larry Ellertson signs or see, them please pick them up.  You can either keep them until October or get in touch with us and we will pick them up this weekend.
Thanks to those who have helped on Larry's campaign. There will be a thank you get together Tuesday night, June 26 starting around 9:30 pm in the New Convention Center on Provo Center Street and 200 west in the Cascade Room. Come join us.

My name is Rusty Butler and I work at UVU.  I am a runner and a cyclist.  I use Utah County trails daily, both in the mountains and in the valley.
Years ago I worked with Hawk Harper (Runners Corner) to keep the Murdock Canal trail open to the public.  The Mayor of Lindon City Larry Ellertson (now County Commissioner) was the political ramrod for our efforts.  We fought the Provo River Water Users Association (PRWUA) to no avail.  Money and civic disregard trumped our grass-roots efforts and the canal was enclosed.  Hawk and Larry are tireless fighters.
Today, I work with Larry and Utah County in developing the “new” Murdock Canal trail, as well as trails in other parts of the county.  I have become a great fan of his tireless can-do, fiscally responsible efforts.  If you believe in more recreational opportunities, join me in voting for Larry Ellertson for County Commissioner on June 26.

"It's easy for a candidate for elective office to say, 'If you elect me, I can do this, and this, and this for the County.'  But it is quite another thing to be the guy who actually has been doing all those things for the County, and has been doing them on a continuous basis for the past 8 years.  The campaign promise which I make to you is this:  If you re-elect me to another term as Utah County Commissioner, I will continue to do the things that have helped Utah County to be named the Best Managed County in the Best Managed State in the Nation, and have helped Utah County to be one of the top counties in the nation in the percentage of new jobs created."

Daily Herald May 5, 2012

"Beehive to Utah County Commissioner Larry Ellertson for leading the commission to act on behalf of property owners in the area of a proposed new delta for the Provo River. The commission recently approved a designation for the area as protected agriculture. That could help some as owners face the prospect of being pushed off their land to make way for the delta project, which is intended to save the June sucker. The commission may help landowners to gain a little respect from the feds, even if it's not as much as a fish."
