Letter to Voters

Dear Delegate,

It has been a tremendous privilege to serve the residents of Utah County. I appreciate the confidence and trust you have placed in me to oversee the affairs of our great county. Many changes have occurred in Utah County during these years. For starters, we have added over 150,000 residents. But some things have not changed, including the values and principles upon which I base my decisions as your commissioner. Another thing that has not changed much is the list of issues that demand our attention. The key issues I campaigned on four years ago are still relevant today. I want to reiterate those and give a brief update on progress we have made in these areas.

Economic Well-being-- We have retained and enhanced our involvement in economic development by enlisting the resources of the Economic Development Corporation of Utah including personnel dedicated to Utah County efforts. In addition, we are actively engaged in working with individuals and companies to bring additional employment to the Utah County area.

Transportation-- Much has been done by many to plan and obtain funding for construction of transportation improvements including I-15, other roads, commuter rail, and trails that are in various stages of completion. I participate actively in this process and continually strive to secure benefits for Utah County.
Growth-- As Utah County continues to have one of the fastest growth rates in the state; we are increasing our commitment to seniors programs, public safety, Utah Lake issues, recreational opportunities, and providing other county services in an effecient and cost effective manner.

Cooperation-- I am actively involved in working with all levels of government in understanding and finding solutions to issues that impact our Utah County community. I am pleased to note that Mayors, Legislators, and other elected officials throughout Utah County recognize my commitment and are supportive of my serving as Utah County Commissioner.

Fiscal Responsibility-- Utah County is recognized as the best-managed county in the state.
I pledge to you that I will represent your values and interests in county government during the next four years. We live in one of the greatest counties in the United States and I will do everything in my power to make sure that is still the case in 2016.
Thank you for your willingness to be actively involved in our political process. As always, I want to be accessible to those I represent, whether you have a question, complaint or suggestion on something we can improve. You can reach me at (801)785-7047 or lellertson@yahoo.com

Cordially,

Larry Ellertson

Republican Candidate for Utah County Commission
