Ladies and Gentlemen:
It is an honor for me
to make a statement of support for Commissioner Larry Ellertson and his
re-election to the Utah County Commission.
Early in my career in
local politics I learned the importance of County and City leaders being able
to come together in order to accomplish good things for every citizen. I have found Larry to be thoughtful and engaged
in the issues and one who can see the long term consequences of actions taken
in the present. He is a man of honesty
and integrity—the salt of the earth.
Let
me share with you some of the things he has worked with us to accomplish:
1. Worked
to return the County Fair to South Utah County and helped author a long term
contract to keep it here.
2. Established
a South County Equestrian center.
3. Zoning
land for potential regional sewer facility.
4. Supported
us in our fight to have I-15 reconstructed through South Utah County.
5. Supported
our effort to have a new Senate District established so that South County
residents could have local representation in the State Senate.
6. Working
with us on a plan to address flood control issues.
7. Supported
approval of spending $500,000 to help with construction of the Spanish Fork
Rodeo and Fairgrounds Arena.
8. Continues
to work with us on land use issues, infrastructure, transportation, economic
development and recreation.
We need good men who are willing to
work together, so I strongly urge you to support Larry Ellertson for County
Commission and vote for him on June 26th.
Thank you,
Wayne Andersen, Mayor
Spanish Fork City

To whom it may concern:
This is a letter of recommendation for Mr. Larry Ellertson. I have known Larry Ellertson for over eleven years in various capacities as I have worked in the north Utah County cities of Eagle Mountain and Saratoga Springs. Larry is a proven, honest, hard-working public servant who has an obvious love and concern for the citizens of Utah County. I believe that Larry is a genuine problem solver and believes in responsible and effective governance at the lowest possible costs.
He understands the appropriate roles of elected officials, appointed officials, public employees and members of the public. Most recently, Larry and I have served on the governing board for the Utah Valley Dispatch Special Services District. We have worked together to form the district, establish service levels and hire its' first executive director. In that capacity, Larry has worked very hard to make sure that levels of service and district policies have been established to ensure a high quality of response to the public for dispatch services while still maintaining a reasonable and frugal level of expenditure. He is highly intelligent, very experienced and has a wisdom that is invaluable to the dispatch board and to the residents of Utah County.
I find that Larry Ellertson is a one-of-a-kind public servant who cares about all citizens, communities and public issues. He is a fair-minded public official whose decisions have been consistently based on principles of equity, fairness and getting the most efficient use of public resources. He understands regional and local needs and how to fairly balance the many needs of those he serves. I appreciate Larry and his kind consideration of all alternatives before making decisions. He is thoughtful, thorough and very considerate. He has my highest recommendation and best wishes for any endeavor he may pursue.
Sincerely,
Ken Leetham
Former City Manager
Saratoga Springs
He believes in the constitution and the Republican Platform. He already knows the ropes and will hit the ground running. He did not enter this job with an agenda and does not have one other than doing what is best for the entire county. He has integrity. He is honest in what he does and says. He is a hard worker. He attends as many meetings as necessary to hear all sides of the issues. He takes time to meet with people even if he is late for something he has scheduled. He stays up late to read e-mails from constituents and other entities he is working with. He studies both sides of the issue trying to find solutions that work best for all while not overlooking the one. He studies issues staying up late to read and reflect on things that are going on. He makes himself available by interacting with all people all over the county. He even takes me on rides so we can see what is happening from Fairfield, Eagle Mtn., Lehi and Alpine to Santaquin, Goshen and Payson and all places in between. He tries to learn what is happening in other counties and working well in those couties that might benefit our county. He has worked with people all over the state of Utah both as president of the League of Cities and Towns when he served as mayor and President of the Utah Association of Counties. He knows how cities are run and how to work with them because of his experience of being a Mayor. He works with other counties in Utah on projects that benefit our county as well as others. He works with the Legislature and Governor to benefit our county. Larry is a mediator, a solution finder, a hard worker. We need a man of his expertise to help us in this time of incredible growth in this county.
